Hawaiian Airlines

US major carrier Hawaiian Airlines has signed to lease three additional Boeing 717s from Boeing Capital in October. This will allow the airline to expand its interisland service between Honolulu and Kahului, Lihue, Hilo and Kona especially during peak season. Hawaiian Airlines is the largest airline based in the state of Hawaii. This is the 11th largest commercial airlines in the country with its primary base is Honolulu International Airport. The secondary hub of the airline is Kahului Airport on the island of Maui. Hawaiian operates over 6 destinations worldwide. The airline manages daily and weekly direct non-stop flights from Honolulu to Tahiti, Australia, the Philippines and Japan. The airline also operates HawaiianMiles, a frequent flyer program. This is to accumulate miles in the program which allows its members to redeem tickets or obtain free or discounted car rental, hotel stays, merchandise or other products and services. In order to support the interisland service, Hawaiian Airlines is further planning to recruit over 50 new flight attendants, ground staff and pilots. Mark Drunkerely, the Hawaiian Airlines’ president and CEO, bids fair to server more customers during soaring travel demand.

Air New Zealand

Air Newzealand is NewZealand’s flagship carrier based in Auckland. It is the country’s flag carrier operating more than 51 scheduled passenger flights daily across Asia, Oceania Europe and North America.

NewZealand air was founded in 1940. Initially its name was Tasman Empire Airways Limited. The airline began weekly flights from its primary hub Auckland to Sydney. It added Wellington and Fiji subsequently.

The government of New Zealand bought 50% in the airline.

Air New Zealand is a member of Star Alliance. It improved in economy class travel by offering couples beds in economy class passengers. Each onboard passenger gets a blanket and a loose normal-sized pillow.

The national carrier of Newzealand is operating Boeing 747, 767, 777 and Airbus A320 on its long-haul routes, and for short-haul operations Boeing 737.

Air Arabia

Air Arabia is the Middle East’s largest low-cost carrier headquartered at Sharjah Freight Center, UAE. It operates daily scheduled flights to 46 destinations worldwide. Airarabia is a member of the Arab Ari Carriers organization.

Indigo

Indigo is India’s low-cost carrier, based at Gurgaon in Haryana . The airline operates domestic service, connecting over 22 destinations in India. Its main base is Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi.

Indigo Airlines is operated by InterGlobe Aviation Private Ltd., aviation, travel, technology and hospitality conglomerate.

Indigo’s major hubs are Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai. However, its focus cities are Ahmadabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad and Pune.

Indigo was founded in 2005 and later commenced flight operations on August 4th, 2006. It is the first India’s airline to have operated air service between Delhi and Imphal via Guwahati.

Indigo also sought for approval to operate international flights from the Ministry of Civil Aviation after completing mandatory domestic flight operations of five year. Indigo is likely to fly internationally, especially SAARC i.e., South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation and across ASEAN i.e., Association of Southeast Asian Nations and South West Asia (SWA) from 2011.

The Gurgaon-based low-cost carrier, Indigo, took its first six Airbus A320-200 delivery on July 28th, 2006, the rest delivered later in 2007. Now the airline has a strong fleet size of 32 state-of-the-art aircraft, comprising Airbus A320-200. The airline has put 68 more airbus, which have an average age of 2.1 years, on order. These planes can carry over 168 passengers at a time.

Indigo in-flight service is handy, allowing passengers purchase edible to their choices. Complimentary meal service is unavailable. Passengers need to buy soft drinks, cookies, nuts, Sandwiches and mineral water.

Indigo Airlines is the most affordable low-cost carrier in India. It allows people to fly cheaper.

Biman Bangladesh

Biman Bangladesh is the national carrier of Bangladesh. It is headquartered at Balaka Bhaban in Kurmitola, Dhaka. The airline operates more than 42 destinations worldwide, connecting Europe, Asia, America and Africa. Shah Amanat international Airport in Chitagong and Osmani International Airport in Sylhet are the main hubs of Biman Bangladesh.

Biman Bangladesh Airlines was established in 1972 by the Bangladesh Biman Ordinance, Presidential Order No. 126. In the beginning the airline initially called Air Bangladesh, but soon rechristened its name with Biman Bangladesh Airlines. It kicked off domestic flight operations between Dhaka and Chittagong, Dhaka and Jassore and Dhaka and Sylhet.

Until 1996, Biman Bangladesh enjoyed an internal monopoly in the Bangladesh civil aviation industry. Corruption and mishaps plagued the airline badly. Consequently it suffered heavy financial losses.

Country’s largest public limited company led by a government-appointed board of directors managed Bimam Bangladesh in 1977. The airline posted an increase in share capital by BDT 2 billion in 1987.

Its main base is Shahajalal International Airport in Dhaka, the capital of the country.

Biman Bangladesh operates frequent flyer programme which awards passengers a free round trip flight on production of ticket for ten round trips on the airline. A free ticket is given to the passenger travels the route often.

The airline also operates a cargo service, at Shahjalabad International Airport, to ship freight to international destinations.

SpiceJet

Spicejet is India’s second low-cost carrier, based at Chennai in Tamil Nadu. Its slogan is Flying for Everyone. The all-budget airline allows price-sensitive passengers to snap the lowest possible fares.

SpiceJet Airlines is a reincarnation of ModiLuft. Ajay Singh and Kansagra family promoted Spicejet. Later an American billionaire, Wilbur Ross, invested $80 million in the airline.

Kalanithi Maran, the Chairman and Managing Director of Sun Network, acquired a large stake in the airline in June 2010. The CEO of SpiceJet is Kishore Gupta.

Spicejet’s inception marks a revolution in Indian civil aviation industry. The airline introduced flying at Rs. 99 for the first 99 days. There are 9, 000 seats available for passengers. In addition the airline also launched Rs. 999 promotional scheme on the select routes. The reason rear to that was to give direct competition to Indian Railways, and provide opportunity of flying possible for everyone.

The primary hub of SpiceJet is Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport. Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport and Kolkata’s Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport are the secondary hubs of Spice. Gurgaon,Haryana,is the corporate office of SpiceJet.

India’s second biggest low-cost carrier focuses on cities like Ahmadabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad and Pune.

SpiceJet has a strong fleet size, including 22 Boeing 737-800 aircraft comprising Boeing 737-900ER with carrying capacity of 212 passengers at a time. The airline also put 37 Boeing 737-800 more planes on order.

Spicejet, India’s low-cost carrier spends money on passenger safety. They are using high-level of expertise. The airline is set in hiring experienced pilots, engineers and dedicated crew members.

The airline has been voted for the best low-cost airline in south Asia and central Asia in 2007.

Cathay Pacific

Cathay Pacific is the national air carrier of Hong Kong. It is the biggest airline of the country. Its main hub is Hong Kong International Airport. The airline operates a number of scheduled flights and cargo services, connecting more than 114 destinations across 36 countries worldwide.

Roy C. Farrell and Sydney H. de Kantzow founded Cathay Pacific on September 24th, 1946. The airline anticipates flying across the Pacific one day. It became the first airline in the world to have operated non-stop transpolar flight over the North Pole in 1998.

Swire Pacific and Air China are the major shareholders of Cathay Pacific.

The airline is one of the founding members of the OneWorld alliance. The Hong Kong-based carrier gets a Five-Star-Airline status.

Cathay has bilateral relationships with Air China, Malaysia Airlines, Philippine Airlines, Aeroflot Russian International Airlines, Vietnam Airlines, and with the French rail operator SNCF as well.

Cathay awarded ‘Airline of the Year’ by Skytrax in 2009.

Etihad Airways

Etihad Airways is the national carrier of United Arab Emirates. It is based at Abu Dhabi, the capital of UAE.

The airline operates flights to the Middle East, Europe, North America, Far East, Africa, Oceania and Indian subcontinent. The airline invites travellers explore the world of travel from Dubai.

The slogan of Etihad Airlines is “from Dubai to the World”.

United Airlines

United Airlines is the flagship carrier of the United States of America and a subsidiary of UAL Corporation. It is the world’s third largest airline by revenue-passenger-miles. The airline is the fourth largest airline by total passengers transported.

United Airlines was established on March 28th, 1931.

AirAsia promotes international destinations

AriAsia launches AirAsia’s World Destination Sale to promote destinations like Bali, Bangkok, London, Mumbai, Paris and Tokyo. Its fares will start from as low as $5.

AirAsia is a low-cost carrier of Malaysia. They are planning to launch the new flight operations from January 17 till February 6th, 2011.

AirAsia is the largest low-cost carrier, covering 139 routes across 76 destinations of Asia, Australia.

Easyjet is buying A320

Low-cost carrier of the UK, Easyjet, is planning to induct 15 A320 aircraft worth of $1.1 billion between 2012 and 2014, a report says. The airline is also planning to convert its all A319 aircraft to A320. Easyjet is much assertive to hedge substantial confidential price concessions for dealing in aircraft. The UK low-cost carrier operates 193 aircraft, and planning to grow its fleet to 220 aircraft by the end of September 2013.
