Hawaiian Airlines
US major carrier Hawaiian Airlines has signed to lease three additional Boeing 717s from Boeing Capital in October. This will allow the airline to expand its interisland service between Honolulu and Kahului, Lihue, Hilo and Kona especially during peak season.
Hawaiian Airlines is the largest airline based in the state of Hawaii. This is the 11th largest commercial airlines in the country with its primary base is Honolulu International Airport. The secondary hub of the airline is Kahului Airport on the island of Maui.
Hawaiian operates over 6 destinations worldwide. The airline manages daily and weekly direct non-stop flights from Honolulu to Tahiti, Australia, the Philippines and Japan.
The airline also operates HawaiianMiles, a frequent flyer program. This is to accumulate miles in the program which allows its members to redeem tickets or obtain free or discounted car rental, hotel stays, merchandise or other products and services.
In order to support the interisland service, Hawaiian Airlines is further planning to recruit over 50 new flight attendants, ground staff and pilots.
Mark Drunkerely, the Hawaiian Airlines’ president and CEO, bids fair to server more customers during soaring travel demand.
